How Paper Production These Days Is Saving More Trees

If you ever have second thoughts about printing because of tree or environmental concerns, fear no longer! In fact, using paper helps sustain trees. Can you believe it? The first time I heard the news, I nearly ran to the store to print all my pictures from the last six years. Even my largest and widest prints, seriously- it’s beneficial to tree forests! Paper in the U.S. is made from trees that come from renewable forests. So, the more trees we want to see, the more paper we should use! The more we use, the more trees these forests will plant and the happier we’ll all be on our green planet.
Here’s how it all works. Forests in the U.S. are harvested with the specific intent to use the forest’s raw material for goods. As demand for these goods increase, suppliers make more money and obviously, want to keep turning profit by continuing the product. So the suppliers take a special interest in renewing the forests. In fact, for every tree uprooted, more are planted. Accordingly to the USDA Forest Service, the wood and paper industry in the United States plants an average of just under 2 million trees a day. Whoa, right? There must be a lot of us still using paper, and good thing!
Supporting tree forests goes a lot farther than just promising a continued supply of paper and clean air. Renewable forests are managed to protect the wildlife habitats, protect the forest from fires and disease and provide beautiful camping, hiking and wildlife observation opportunities. Renewable tree forests have continued to grow over the years and see only projections of higher growth in the future. Just remember, in order to keep planting, we have to keep using new (not recycled) paper from a renewable source. Lucky for us, this is how it happens in the United States, anyway!
You’re covered on the tree saving front, so what else can you do to make sure your large and wide format printing is environmentally friendly? Refill ink and bottles and cartridges instead of buying new ones and make sure your printer inks are compatible before use. Most importantly, spread the word! Let others know that paper comes from a renewable resource. In order to renew it, we have to use it! We hope to see you in Macrocenter for all of your printing needs, soon!
