The world of arts and crafts is one of those hobbies that is unique, because anyone can do it. Sure, some might be more natural at it then others, but you are creating a piece of art that is special to you.

Let's approach this is you are brand new to crafts projects. You don't need a whole lot to get on your way. Most people have an ink jet printer in your own home, and if you don't I'm sure you know someone who does. Let's take that approach and run with it. The simplest form of art to some is the art of collage. People tend to migrate towards this because you can do it with just about anything.

  1. The first thing you are going to want to do is find the canvas you want the final product to be put on. Depending on its size, this will determine all your actions going forward.
  2. Outside your canvas, or mounting medium, you will also want to invest in a sponge brush, scissors, “Mod Podge”. This is an adhesive that can be found at all craft supply stores. You can also pick up some acrylic paints if you are wanting to take things up a notch.
  3. Now, the most important step is figuring out what you want to piece to be. Most people go with hobbies that are important to them. Sometimes screenshots from their favorite movies. Whatever you chose to do, get on the internet and start acquiring images that you want to incorporate in the project. When printing the images, make sure your inkjet printer cartridges are filled, to ensure the best possible print quality. Make sure every image is unique . That's the art of collage, you don't want everything to be universally the same.
  4. Once you've collected and printed a decent amount of images, now comes the creative part. Cut out your images how you want them, and start placing them on your canvas. Keep the adhesive to the side for now, because you will want to be able to move things around.
  5. Here is where you can paint to give the canvas a background, or if you want to paint over the images, you are more than welcome to do so. Once you get things how you like them, use the Mod-Podge to glue everything down. When you have them glued down take your sponge brush an go over the entire canvas with one or two layers of Mod-Podge and let it sit. This will seal the canvas and keep everything from getting dirty.

Congratulations, you created a piece of one of a kind art using items you can find easily around the house or at you local craft store. For printing supplies that may enhance your collage visit macroenter.com
